Honored by the Colorado Component of the American Institute of Architects in 1999 as their Architect of the Year, Morey is an architect and community developer dedicated to providing architecture that heals. As a practicing architect in Colorado for over 30 years, and co-founder of the Colorado Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council, he is involved in developing intentional communities that include folks who are marginalized from opportunities to be safely and comfortably housed. A member of the first graduating Environmental Design at CU Boulder in 1974, he now 'sneaks in' the homeless into his design solutions much like he had to 'sneak in' green architecture long before it was an acceptable professional practice. He is co-founder of NC3, The New Chautauqua Community Development Cooperative, PBC (Public Benefit Cooperative) a real estate investment cooperative that finances eco-village development and catalyses the creation of worker and housing cooperatives to democratically govern eco-village life.
